Home Ed Group

Home Ed Group visiting Windmill Community Gardens is: A monthly Monday morning group for home educated children to attend with their parents/carers to explore the outdoors through play, crafts, gardening, tasting fresh produce, stories and songs. Home Ed Group at Windmill Community Gardens helps parents/carers and their children enjoy learning and play opportunities outdoors.


This group runs every Fourth Monday from 10.30am -12.30pm. 


£5 per family

Garden Club


This is a free group, open to all abilities and skills, with a chance to meet new people and gain new skills. Try a range of gardening activities with support and guidance from the Windmill Community Gardens Team. 


No prior booking required 


Every Thursday between 9 am and 4pm

Cabbage Patch 

Is a weekly play and learn group for children Under 5 years old with their Parent/Carer. Seasonal activities help us to explore the outdoors through play, crafts, gardening, stories and songs. There is a different activity planned every week including seed sowing, bug hunting, food growing, tasting fresh produce, discovering the wonders of wildlife.

This group runs every Tuesdays from 10.30am -12.30pm.


£2 for first child and £1.50 for subsequent children

Forest Garden Group


This is a free group, open to all abilities and skills, with a chance to meet new people and learn about Forest Gardening. Try a range of gardening activities with support and guidance from the Windmill Community Gardens Team. 


Join us monthly on the first and third Monday of each month, 



Each Session runs from 9am to 12pm


No need to book, just turn up on the day

Forest Garden Family Group


We are starting a new family group due to popular demand, this group will be focused around our Forest Garden. 

Come and explore the Forest Garden, enjoy a range of sustainable educational activities led by the seasons.

£5 per family group

Every second Monday of the month

10am to 12pm

Wellbeing


The wellbeing group caters for people with wellbeing needs and offers the opportunity to try a range of supported gardening activities, crafts, cooking, managing and maintaining plants and vegetables. 

Placements are made by referral by GP or support worker.


This group is currently open. Attendance at this group is through referral only.

Work Experience


Work placement and work experience programmes are available for school students, young people and adults. The programme is a great way to develop your skills, build your experience and confidence. Supported activities include harvesting and growing, customer service and garden outdoor maintenance.
